Jan5, 2008---Recently, Department of Construction, Department of Civil Affairs, together with Office of the National Ageing Committee, issued ‘Notice Regarding Developing National Barrier-free Cities’, three cities in Gansu Province are on the list.

Access-free construction is one of the most important figures to improve city image and to build a modern city. It provides basic facilities for the disabled, the aged, women and children. Ever since 1998, Qinghai Province has started the urban barrier-free process. During the past few years, local government and related departments have been carefully carried on the suggestions for barrier-free constructions. Thanks to their efforts, now the province is fully functioned with barrier-free public toilets, barrier-free paths, reading-room for blind people, etc.
